Winter Classic

On Saturday, February 17, the Hilltop was abuzz with excitement at our annual Winter Classic. Attendance was record-breaking at over 200 alumni, parents, and friends from far and wide!

The Book Club gathering kicked off the day with Mrs. Nichols's class and guests filling the Global Classroom with lively and insightful conversation around William Shakespeare's Macbeth. Following was an incredible lunch spread with everything from salmon and steak to salads and the most delectable lobster bisque. The courts were hot for the Annual King of the Hilltop Paddle Tournament with our teams facing off as flurries fell. Inside, families and friends enjoyed an hour of open ice, hot cocoa, face painting, popcorn, and plenty of photo opportunities! Our Annual Chili Cook-Off was a spicy success, enjoyed in between cheering for Salisbury and popping outside to grab a snack from the taco truck.

The Sarum was flowing as Salisbury took on Avon Old Farms in Varsity Basketball with a halftime award presented to members of the Class of 1992 for their win in this year's Sarum Challenge. They took home the Knight trophy for the second year in a row!

Prior to the Varsity Hockey game, we were happy to recognize Roswell "Hop" Rudd (faculty member 1948-1972) for his many accomplishments and contributions to Salisbury School athletics as the Athletic Director, and, specifically, the hockey program as "The Father of Salisbury Hockey." The first artificial rink was constructed on campus in 1972 and aptly named Rudd Rink in his honor. With the generous support of former players, the ice surface now includes this acknowledgment as well.

Hop was with us in spirit as Salisbury took the victory with a 5-1 win against Avon!

It was a great day to be a Knight! Link to photo gallery can be found HERE
